IPTV on a Formuler Box | MYTVOnline Setup Guide
Set up IPTV on a Formuler Z-series box: choosing between MYTVOnline's portal, Xtream Codes and M3U login types, and when to use another player.
What you need
- An active LeafIPTV subscription or trial.
- The login or playlist details delivered to your account email. Keep them private.
- A stable internet connection and enough free storage for the player app.
- The correct date and time set on the device.
Work out which login your account uses
MYTVOnline can take a portal URL, an Xtream Codes login, or an M3U playlist, and the setup screens differ for each. Check your delivery email first: if it contains a username, a password and a server URL, you want the Xtream option. If it contains a single long URL ending in a playlist path, you want M3U. If it contains a portal address and asked for a MAC, you want the portal option.
Trying the wrong one produces a login error that looks identical to a bad password, which is why this step comes first.
Add the account in MYTVOnline
The player is already installed, so there is no app store step. Open it from the home screen and add a playlist or portal from its own settings.
- Open MYTVOnline from the Formuler home screen.
- Open its settings and choose to add a new playlist or portal.
- Select the type that matches your delivery email — Xtream Codes, M3U or portal.
- Enter the details exactly as supplied, including any port number in the URL.
- Save, then allow the full channel and guide download to complete before navigating away.
Keep the stock player, or do not
Because the box runs Android, you can install a different player from the Play Store and ignore MYTVOnline entirely. That is a legitimate choice — some people prefer another player's guide handling — but you lose the remote-key integration Formuler builds into its own app.
If you do install another player, set it as the default launch app in the system settings so the remote's shortcuts land somewhere sensible.
Troubleshooting
Login fails with details that look correct
You are probably in the wrong login type. Xtream Codes details entered into a portal field will always fail. Re-read the delivery email, identify which of the three formats you have, and use the matching option.
The guide loads but is missing programme data
MYTVOnline downloads the guide separately from the channel list, and it can take several minutes on first run. Leave it, then trigger a manual EPG update from its settings if it is still incomplete.
The remote's shortcut buttons do nothing
Those keys are mapped to MYTVOnline. If you have switched to a third-party player, set it as the default app in the system settings, or accept that the branded shortcut keys will not carry over.
FAQ
Is a Formuler box an Android device?
The Z-series runs Android underneath with the manufacturer's own launcher and player on top. You can use the Play Store, though the stock player is what the remote is designed around.
Which Formuler login type should I use?
Whichever matches your delivery email. Username, password and server URL means Xtream Codes; a single long playlist URL means M3U; a portal address plus a MAC request means portal.
Do I need to send my MAC address?
Only for portal-style access. Xtream Codes and M3U logins authenticate by credentials and need no MAC.
Can I install a different player?
Yes, from the Play Store. You will lose the remote's dedicated shortcut keys, which are mapped to the stock app.
Is Formuler better than a generic Android box?
For live television specifically, its stock player and remote integration are genuinely better tuned than most generic boxes. For everything else it is an ordinary Android device.
