Xtream Codes Login Explained | Server URL, Username, Password

What the three Xtream Codes fields mean, how the login differs from an M3U playlist, and why almost every failed setup is one of them entered wrongly.

What you need

  • An active LeafIPTV subscription or trial.
  • The login or playlist details delivered to your account email. Keep them private.
  • A stable internet connection and enough free storage for the player app.
  • The correct date and time set on the device.

What each field is

The server URL is the address of the service your player talks to. It usually looks like http://something.example:8080 — a protocol, a hostname, and often a port number. The username and password identify your account to that server. The player combines all three to request your channel list.

That is the whole mechanism. There is no account you create in the app, and no relationship between these details and any email login you might have. They are issued to you and they are the only thing that matters.

Enter them without breaking them

The failure modes are boringly consistent, and all of them are typing problems rather than account problems.

  1. Copy the server URL complete, including http:// or https:// and any :port at the end.
  2. Check no trailing slash was added — some players reject a URL ending in one.
  3. Paste the username and password rather than typing them, and check for a leading or trailing space.
  4. On phones and Apple TV, confirm autocorrect has not capitalised the first character.
  5. Save, then wait for the first channel-list download before deciding whether it worked.

How it differs from M3U

An M3U playlist is a single URL that returns a flat list of channels. Xtream Codes is an interface: the player can ask for live channels, films and series separately, pull category structure, and fetch programme-guide data through the same connection. That is why players that support both generally behave better on Xtream.

If your delivery email contains a single long URL and no separate username, you have an M3U playlist and should use that setup path instead.

Keep the details private

These three fields are your subscription. Anyone who has them can use it, and sharing them is the fastest way to hit your simultaneous-connection limit or lose access entirely. Never post a screenshot of a filled-in login screen when asking for help — blank the fields first.

Troubleshooting

Login failed, but the details are definitely right

Check the server URL for a missing port number, a trailing slash, or https where http was supplied. Those three account for most of these. Then confirm the subscription has not expired.

The login works on one device but not another

Either autocorrect altered the entry on the second device, or you have reached the simultaneous-connection limit. Sign out on the first device and try again — if it then works, it was the connection limit.

Channels load but films and series are empty

That is normal on some plans and does not indicate a login problem. If your plan includes on-demand content and the sections are empty, force a full content refresh in the player before contacting support.

FAQ

Is Xtream Codes an app I need to install?

No. It is a login format that players implement. You install a player, then choose the Xtream Codes login option inside it.

What is the server URL?

The address of the service your player connects to, usually including a port number. It is supplied with your account and must be entered exactly, protocol included.

Why does my login fail on my phone but work on my TV?

Phone keyboards autocapitalise and autocorrect the server field. It is the most common cause of a device-specific login failure.

Should I use Xtream Codes or M3U?

Xtream Codes when the player supports it. It carries categories and guide data that a flat M3U playlist does not, so the resulting interface is considerably better.

Can I share my Xtream details with family?

They will work, but every simultaneous connection counts against your plan's limit, and sharing details you cannot control is how accounts get abused. Ask about a plan with more connections instead.
